The Problem

Every rep in polyester, your skin absorbs what's in it.

Most gym-goers never question what's in their shirt. They just lift.

Exercise opens your pores and drives blood to the skin's surface. The same process drives anything pressed against your skin directly into your bloodstream. Independent testing by Mamavation found PFAS in 1 in 4 workout garments. Polyester athletic shirts have been found to contain BPA at elevated levels. And your skin absorbs chemicals up to 50% faster during exercise — when blood flows to the surface and pores dilate. Every session.

You're training for your health. Your shirt is working against it.

The Problem

Your shorts are made of plastic. And that plastic is absorbing into your skin right now.

When you sweat, your pores dilate, your sweat acts as a solvent. The PFAS, BPA, and microplastics in your polyester shorts don't sit on the surface. They dissolve into that sweat and absorb directly through your skin.

Independent testing found PFAS in 1 in 4 workout garments. BPA has been detected in polyester-spandex blends at levels 40x California's safe exposure limit.

The fitness industry spent decades convincing you that polyester is performance. It's cheap to manufacture. That's why they use it.

The Difference

Six reasons nature outperforms plastic.

✔️ Zero endocrine disruptors.

Polyester and nylon release BPA and phthalates — synthetic chemicals shown to disrupt hormone production in athletes. 18.5-micron merino is a natural protein fibre with zero synthetic polymer content.

✔️ 7 sessions. Zero washes. Still fresh.

Merino's keratin and lanolin structure prevents bacterial colonisation at the fibre level. It doesn't fade. It doesn't wash out. Your polyester shorts has a permanent bacterial colony after six months. This one doesn't.

✔️ 30% moisture absorption before you feel wet.

Merino absorbs up to 30% of its weight in moisture while the outer surface stays hydrophobic. No clammy feeling. No chemical wicking treatment required.

✔️ Cool in summer. Warm in winter. No chemistry required.

The crimped fibre structure traps air for insulation while releasing heat when your body temperature rises. The same shorts that keeps you warm on a cold morning manages heat in the stuffy gym.

✔️ 18.5 microns. Zero itch.

Itch comes from coarse fibres above 25 microns that poke the skin rather than bend. At 18.5 microns — finer than cashmere — the fibre bends on contact. Most athletes who've written off merino tried 25+ micron wool. Different product.

✔️ The only gym shorts that biodegrades.

When this shorts reaches end of life, it returns to the earth. Your polyester shorts will still be shedding microplastics in 2150. That's not sustainability. That's debt.

We created these shorts because conventional activewear exposes gym goers to a dangerous cocktail of chemicals. Every workout in synthetic gear means BPA, PFAS, phthalates, and microplastics absorbing through your sweat-soaked skin—chemicals linked to hormone disruption, fertility issues, and chronic skin problems affecting 60-70% of sensitive-skin individuals.

We engineered a better solution: two-layer natural fiber construction using merino wool and cotton that delivers genuine performance without the toxic load. Train healthy, not hazardous.

Train in them. Race in them. Put them through your toughest training. If these shorts don't deliver the best performance and comfort you've ever experienced, if you don't feel the difference of running chemical-free, simply return them within 90 days for a full refund. No questions asked. No fine print. We'll even cover return shipping.

Why offer this guarantee? Because we know once you experience natural fiber performance without the chafing, rashes, and toxic chemical exposure of synthetic gear, you'll never go back.

Due to high demand, Gray and Navy shorts are sold out.

Here's how you're SAVING money

Yes, we're good quality and expensive but here's why you're actually SAVING money (and your health)

THE REAL COST:

Synthetic shorts cost $40-60 but last only 12-18 months before the elastic stretches, fabric pills, and the smell becomes permanent.

Over 3 years: $120-180 in replacements
Zero Plastic shorts: $75 (customers report 3-5+ years, still looking new)

THE HEALTH COST YOU CAN'T CALCULATE:

Your synthetic shorts are plastic. They contain BPA, PFAS ("forever chemicals"), and phthalates (the same hormone disruptors banned from water bottles)

When you run, your pores open and these toxins absorb directly through your skin into your bloodstream.

Studies show:

  • BPA levels 2x higher in polyester fabrics
  • 65% of activewear contains PFAS
  • Active Gear expose wearers to 22x BPA's safe limit

What's the cost of hormone disruption? Fertility issues? Long-term health effects?

Zero Plastic shorts:

  • $75, lasts 3-5+ years
  • 100% natural fibers
  • Permanently odor-resistant
  • Still looks new after years

3-year comparison:

  • Synthetics: $120-180 + constant chemical exposure
  • Zero Plastic: $75 + peace of mind

For the Runner Who Optimizes Everything

You track your macros. You filter your water. Your gym shorts are next.

The health-optimized man doesn't accept standard inputs. He checks every label. He reads the research. He's already made the hard choices. But most men still wear plastic to the gym because the fitness industry spent decades conditioning them to believe polyester is performance.

It isn't. It's cheap to manufacture. Zero Plastic Performance exists for the man who's already made every other clean choice. This is the last one.

The Comparison

100% natural isn't a marketing claim. It's a material difference.

Common Questions

Straight Answers

Won't wool be itchy?

Not a chance. Our merino fibers are 18.5 microns, finer than a human hair. That's a completely different beast from the scratchy wool sweater you're thinking of. Most guys describe it as the softest shirt they own.

Is it going to be too hot for the gym?

Nope. Merino actually thermoregulates in both directions. It keeps you cool when you're hot and warm when you're not. Unlike polyester, which traps sweat against your skin, merino moves moisture through the fiber so you actually feel dry. It works the same way in summer as it does in winter.

Can it really handle heavy lifting and intense training?

Yes. The fiber has natural stretch, so your range of motion isn't limited. Guys have worn these through full lifting sessions, HIIT, and long runs without issues. It's not just for hiking; this tee was built with gym performance in mind.

Why does it cost so much?

Think of it as cost-per-wear, not cost-per-shirt. You're probably already spending $65 to $90 on a polyester tee. This is the same price, except you'll wear it 3 to 5 times between washes, it won't lose its performance after 50 washes, and it isn't leaching plastic chemicals into your body every session. The math actually works out in your favor.

Will it get holes?

We'll be straight with you. 100% merino is a fine fiber, so it needs slightly more care than a cheap polyester tee. That said, our construction is built for gym use specifically (not ultralight travel weight), and if anything happens within 60 days, we've got you covered. Treat it right and it'll outlast every synthetic tee in your drawer.

How do I wash it without ruining it?

Cold wash, gentle cycle, air dry. That's it. The good news? Because merino naturally resists odor, you wash it way less often, which means it lasts longer and you save on laundry.

Will it dry fast enough after I sweat?

Merino absorbs moisture into the fiber rather than leaving it sitting on your skin, so even while it holds some moisture, you won't feel soaked or clammy mid-workout. It dries a little slower than polyester on a hanger, but during training it actually feels drier. Big difference.

How do I know the "no toxins" claim is actually real?

Fair question, and you should ask it. Ours is third-party verified. Look for OEKO-TEX and GOTS certification on our product page. Those aren't brand claims; they're independent labs testing for 1,000+ harmful substances including PFAS, BPA, and phthalates. The certifications don't lie.

Isn't "recycled plastic" activewear already the sustainable option?

Recycled polyester is still plastic. It still sheds microplastics every wash. It still sits against your skin while you sweat. "Recycled" is an environmental story, not a health story. We're solving a different problem entirely.
